➢ Home assignments for strengthening class room learning frequently.
➢ Identifying the learning difficulties.
➢ Find out the problems by interacting.
➢ Assigning individual or group work, find out the ability to work individually as well as in group and so on.
➢ Remedial teaching is not repetition of earlier teaching in the class.
➢ Useful and effective techniques for remedial learning as follow :
Remedial assignments
Supervised study
Guidance & Counselling
Peer tutoring
Drill exercises
Educational games
➢ Use of the above techniques of remedial learning :
Identification of students with learning deficiencies.
Identification of relevant remedial technique.
Collection & preparation of remedial material.
Scheduling of time & activities
Execution of activities
Continuous evaluation and maintenance of record of success and failure & providing feedback.
➢ Selection and planning of alternative activities if earlier activities were not profitable
➢ Repeating the above principles in the sequence until the deficiencies are overcome
➢ Which planning & implementing the remedial programme the following points should be kept in
mind.
• Based on CCE programme.
• Background of the students should be kept in mind.
• Remedial learning may be provided to only one difficulty at a time.
• Errors should be pointed out in a positive manner.
• Remedial learning activities should be motivating.
• Strengths of students should be emphasized.
• Students should be made aware of their success continuously during the programme.
• Simplest one is to be taken first.
• The system should be changed if it is found not profitable.
• Scheduling of activities & time should be done.
